Diagnosis of speech delay. How can the LTP method be used to develop a child's speech?
We present a progress report for a child named Muhammad, 3 years and 11 months old, from Russia. The course ran from November 18, 2024, to January 17, 2025.
What changed after the course?
- Calmness and self-control: Muhammad has become much calmer and has better control over his emotions.
- Physical endurance: Now he can walk longer and doesn’t ask to be picked up.
- Fulfilling requests: Previously, he did not fulfill simple requests, but now he does everything.
- Attention and awareness: The look has become more conscious, he understands the speech addressed to him better.
- Speech development: New sounds and words appeared, pronunciation became clearer.
- Motor skills: He is more aware of his body and moves his arms when asked to repeat movements.
- Interaction with a speech therapist: He began to respond more often to requests and praise, and also remembers and repeats words better.
- Stereotypes: Stereotypical behavior has almost disappeared, it only occasionally spins.
- Sleep: Hides less in tight spaces and falls asleep faster.
- Haircut: For the first time at LTP I sat calmly with my phone, didn't cry, and let myself get a haircut.
- Interest in the contents of the refrigerator: More often shows interest in the contents of the refrigerator and looks for prohibited foods.
- Singing: He began to hum songs, albeit incomprehensibly, in his own words.
- Interest in cartoons: I started watching role-playing games of cartoon characters and watched The Three Little Pigs for the first time.
- Contact with children: He didn’t play with his peers before, but now he turns around and looks to see if I’m following him.
- Hygiene: Brings toothpaste and a toothbrush, says "zibui", which means "brush your teeth".
